Jon Pomplin began his professional career
in 1981 when he formed the group "Aleister Crowley", which became
one of the hottest acts in the Midwest. In 1998 his group "Sea
of Monsters" recorded their debut CD with "Smashing Pumpkins"
and "Smoking Popes" producer Phil Bonnett. Shortly after
returning from a tour, FOX TV Chicago invited Sea of Monsters to
perform at "Taste of Chicago". The release of 2 independent
music videos soon followed. Jon appeared on several Chicago radio
stations including WCRX and WXAV and the TV program "EXPOSE" to
promote the release. He also has appeared in the past as a cast
member of a daily program on ABC-TV Indianapolis. He has also been
interviewed by WLS TV, WGN TV & Radio, Fox Television Chicago,
WMKB and Metro Networks Chicago. |
| In late 2000 Jon left "Sea of Monsters"
to pursue a solo career. After hiring Jon as the first call session
bassist, Cellar Records signed Jon as a solo artist where he began
his solo endeavor, Project 814 with his fellow Cellar session musicans.
The debut release "Declassified" was completed in late 2001
and released to major retail thereafter. The CD quickly gained critical
acclaim from the press
and other top musicians including Jeff
Berlin, Adam
Nitti and Dann Glenn,
securing a place for Project 814 as one of the hottest acts of the
new millennium. In early 2002, "Declassified" was nominated for the
prestigious AFIM "Indie" awards. |

In late 2004 Jon, along with grammy nominated
producer Todd Joos, formed a new band with members who appeared on
the first Project 814 called Disguise
The Limit. The debut CD entitled Redemption,
was released in the fall of 2004 on Cellar Records and was co-released
on Declassified Records. It features songs written by Jon, and the
other original Project 814 members. Redemption
is already garnering critical aclaim from the press and is enjoying
